Community Outreach

This February we will celebrate 28 years of operation in LaPlata. We continue to be proud members of this business community where we have worked through the remarkable changes that our neighborhood has undergone since our beginnings as a neighborhood meeting place.

Twenty-eight years later we happily continue to serve our community as a meeting place where friends and family can safely gather to relax at the end of a busy day, celebrate good news or meet new friends. Part of being a member of a community, we believe, is not only operating in a way that benefits our community but also by giving back whenever possible. Throughout the year, we support local groups through donations of gift certificates and selections from our wine cellar for auctions in addition to cash donations for golf tournaments and other events. Several times each year, we partner with organizations in an attempt to lend our support in a more significant way.

This Fall, we continue our partnership with Grace Lutheran Church of LaPlata to raise funds for local organizations. In the past, this efforts has benefited such as Melwood's Kamp Akomplish and the Southern Maryland Compassion Center. This year, The Center for Children will be the beneficiary. Our donations will include the food & services for two fundraising events. The first, Tophats, Tiaras & Tea will be a two-course afternoon tea served in our restaurant on Saturday, October 6, 2007. Tickets are $35.00 per person with all proceeds from the tea and the silent auction going directly to The Center for Children. Tickets for the benefit tea can be purchased by contacting Lisa at 301-932-6226. The following Saturday, will be donating the Buffet dinner to be served in the auditorium at Grace Lutheran Church during an evening of dinner theatre featuring an evening of mystery entitled "La Problem in LaPlata". Tickets are $50.00 for the evening and may be purchased directly from Grace Lutheran Church.

On Saturday, September 22 we will begin a partnership with Civista Foundation's Autumn Wine Tasting. On this evening, we will host a Sushi Station featuring our Executive Gary Fick and several of the highly skilled members of his staff. Likewise, we will be hosting the Martini Bar with special creations by Senior Bartender, Jennifer Cox. Several of the featured martinis have been especially prepared for the evening and will be added to our Cocktail Menu following the event. We encourage you to support these vitally important organizations by purchasing tickets and knowing that you are helping your community while you have a ball!
